The Studio at Taylor Bay My studio is where the paint meets the canvas. Research, comparison of projects, canvas preparation, framing, computer work, and my reference library are located in the loft of the main house. The studio has great north light, and is an excellent place to seal myself away from everything but the project at hand. Once a "garden shed", it has since been upgraded with 3 new windows, new wiring, insulation, a ventilation system, drywall, new lighting with color-correcting bulbs, and a sound system. The beach is about 75 yards down the hill, and Taylor Bay and Puget Sound are the view from the front window. Eagles often roost in the huge firs between the studio and the bay. During painting breaks, our dog, Tess, and I take brief walks to the beach to breathe in the clean salt air, and stretch our legs. Blacktail deer frequent our yard, as can be seen the attached photo. All in all, an excellent place for creativity and inspiration. |
